Every morning somewhere in a forest a deer wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows that it must run faster than the slowest deer or it will starve to death.
It doesn’t matter whether we are a lion or a deer. When the sun comes up, we better be running!
That is the life of most people in city life, especially in big cities. We must run, run fast or we will be run over by someone else running faster.
But is there no difference between us and these wild animals in a remote forest? Well, it is upto us to create that difference! Paying attention to the three “H” would surely make some difference, if not more.
The three H are – Health, Hobby and Home (family).
We should pursue a hobby that was always neglected, pay attention to gain back health that deteriorated over the years and spend some time with family, especially kids. This will definitely add some more of the fourth H – Happiness – to our life.
Here something worth sharing that I read somewhere …
A question was posed to Dalai Lama:
“What is the thing about humanity that surprises you the most?”
His answer sums up the whole thing beautifully. He said, “Man – because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices his money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he doesn’t enjoy the present.
And as a result he doesn’t live in the present or the future. And he lives as if he’s never going to die, and then he dies having never really lived!!”
